Judicial Foreclosure

The form of foreclosure used in Wisconsin. Once a borrower is notified that a lawsuit has been filed, they have 20 days to respond. If the foreclosure is granted and the borrower lives in the property, there is a six month redemption period if the lender waives its right to a deficiency judgement. This is typically the case in Wisconsin. Including all steps involved in a foreclosure, they normally take from six months to one year to be completed. Also: Strict Foreclusure, Lis Pendens
