Geothermal Heat Pump

A central heating and/or cooling system that pumps heat to or from the ground. It is the same as a conventional heat pump, but instead of transferring heat to or from outdoor air, heat is transferred to or from the ground or ground water. If ground water is the source, this type of system is called a ground water heating system. Also: Heat Pump
