Back in the day when Milwaukee was known for its heavy industry, West Allis was the heart of blue collar country. Today West Allis has revitalized itself. Most of the factories are gone. Centered on Greenfield Avenue, you’ll find new commercial and condo developments, a new farmers market, new retail spaces and new streets as well. The old Allis Chalmers plant is the epitome of adaptive re-use.
This community is best known as the home of State Fair Park. Located at the center of the metro area, residents here enjoy being “close to everything”. The older northeastern quadrant is a mix of smaller homes and duplexes and is the image many have of this community. Here you can find homes on larger lots that rival those of New Berlin.
